DOES MY DOG NEED A DOG HOUSE?

While some people might like their dogs sleeping on their bed, many don’t.

If you are going to adopt a dog, it is very important to get a dog house as it is a necessity. This helps in providing it some personal space to sleep and eat. A dog house can be in a garden or lawn outside or within the house.

After playing around with everyone, a dog desires a time out to rest in its personal environment away from human contact. It will go to its happy place, get some sleep until it is ready to re-join with its tail wagging and willing to play! Allowing your dog to decide when it would like to have some alone time is a responsible and empathetic response on the part of humans. However, training sessions must be done for dogs that are fearful of living outside or going inside its new house.

Just like humans, dogs feel anxiety and depression too.

There can be several causes for it- fear of loud noises, separation, aging etc. Having a separate house for them can aid such problems to reduce or stop them for ever feeling such way. Some common signs for anxiety can be constantly digging, destroying furniture, barking or howling a lot, not eating etc.

Keeping your dog with yourself all day can make them anxious for the time when you are not with them. This might make it over protective of you and could become less friendly to other human beings and animals that come near you. When a dog has its own space, it will less likely to feel the fear of separation from you.  If you are constantly moving and shifting, it might be more difficult for your dog to adjust.

But if it has its own old house, it wouldn’t feel scared or anxious because it knows that it is its place. Fear related anxiety can be caused by loud noises of traffic, strange people or even nightmares. A separate house with its favorite toys can become a perfect hideout spot in such situations. It ensures better sleep and less chances of getting nightmares. If you think that your dog has stopped hearing your call or can’t see the ball you threw, it is not ignoring you but it is now turning old. Senior dogs often have a hard time handling stress. While some of them might get clingier, some would want to be left alone. And for them, a cute little easily accessible tent house is a must.
